So you're making a Doable Duffel, and it's time to whip together the carrying strap. Fun!
What is a carrying strap?
The Doable Duffel has two handles (for carrying your bag in your hands), and an adjustable carrying strap (for carrying the bag over your shoulder).
In the photo below, the strap is the length of webbing sitting in front of the bag.
What do you need to make one?
Great news - you don't need much to make a strap!
Making an adjustable carrying strap is fast and easy. All you'll need is:
- 60" of webbing
- Two triangle rings
- Two swivel snap hooks
- One slider
For my strap, I used 1 1/2" wide webbing, which required me to use 1 1/2" wide hardware. You'll want to match the width of your webbing to your hardware.
I chose "antique brass" as my hardware finish.
Where can I buy the components of the carrying strap?
Even better news! I've made it super simple to pick up the hardware kit, webbing, and all other items required to make the Doable Duffel in my online shop.
They're all waiting for you to turn them into an adorable Doable Duffel!
Can you show me how to make one?
You bet I can!
I made a video tutorial walking you through all the steps of this quick and easy project. Just click on the image below to check it out!
I hope you enjoyed the video, and that it showed you how easy (and dare I say fun?) it is to make a strap for your Doable Duffel.
Let me know in the comments below how many straps you've made!
